Sura

With lyrics that are intimate and political, poetic and sharp, Sura sweeps us away into her universe that is both gentle and shaking. The audience can’t be passive or silent: it becomes a choir, a witness, a family. In an instant, the air in the room warms up, and no matter the venue, the concert becomes a ritual. You emerge more powerful, more loving, ready to make hope contagious again. Inspired by artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Cocorosie, Devendra Banhart, Lior Shoov, Nina Simone, Camille, Noname, Ibrahim Maalouf and Yom, she has released her first solo album, ‘ROAR’ in 2022, following it up with ‘OUT OF THE BLUE’ in 2023.

New solo creations are on the way for 2024 and 2025, including an XP EP: ‘BREAKING THE SILENCE’, a musical commentary combining acoustic improvisation, documentary soundscapes and techno-trash productions. Sura is a versatile artist with creativity in spades, and she will continue to offer the world her colourful roars and purrs, step by step, cloud by cloud, with humble, overflowing generosity.
